Background & Overview
Buildings, classrooms, laboratories, and equipment- education infrastructure – are crucial elements of learning environments in schools. There is strong evidence that high-quality infrastructure facilitates better instruction, improves student outcomes, and reduces dropout rates, among other benefits.
Some of the attributes of adequate infrastructure are:
- Sufficient space per child, usually guided by standards set by a country’s Ministry of Education
- Sufficient space for 30-40 children per classroom, to permit efficient use of teachers
- Construction methods that ensure the safety of children in school, suited to natural hazards of the region
- Adequate separate sanitary facilities for boys and girls and for staff
- Increasingly, electricity and Internet connectivity.
Funding the improvement of public school infrastructure
Qualification Criteria
Your school must be a public school located around Abuja. Applicants must provide justification on why their request should be funded.
Our Target Beneficiaries
Public pre-primary and primary schools with primary school kids with in-need evidence around Abuja municipality can apply for this funding opportunity.
What We Fund
Applicants can access support to the value of N100,000 per school. This would be inform of in-kind support to cover the costs of school renovation projects, WASH projects, supply of teaching aids (tables, chairs, desks), furniture, etc
