Course Overview;

Financial Management Course for NGOs is an intensive and interactive  online training program delivered live to participants. The course is for both Finance and Non-Finance workers within local and international NGOs.

The course is also essential for individuals seeking to explore careers within the humanitarian and development sectors as useful source of capacity building and empowerment opportunity as they compete for vacant positions within the sector. We strongly believe that this course will empower individuals to do well and become successful while seeking job opportunities.

Finance and non-finance workers will find this course extremely useful as an empowerment program that will enable them meet accountability requirements to their grant makers and donors as well as position them to manage larger, more complex, multi- facet awards (grants) from multi-donor sources.

Course Contents:

The course contents will be delivered in very practical methods and will be done using an accounting software which will be installed for each participant (on PC only) so they can follow each step hands-on throughout the training period. The software license will be active for 30 days which will enable participants to practice on their own after the course. Summary of course contents include (but not limited) to how to;

  • Install accounting software from scratch and design back-end internal controls system
  • Set up chart of accounts
  • Set up analysis charts and codes that are useful for financial and program budget  analysis
  • Record financial transactions using automated software
  • Monitor & control project expenses
  • Monitor single & multiple program budgets
  • Produce timely & accurate financial reports
  • Segregate financial reports in formats useful for multi-donor &  multi-project analysis
  • Monitor and reconcile crucial balances sheet items
  • Performing periodic account closure
  • Back-up processes
  • Running vital reports for audit and other internal control purposes
  • Compliance requirements & essentials of donor regulations (reference to core  regulations of donors such as USAID’s grants, cooperative agreements, contracts etc

Training Outcomes:

All participants will;

  • be issued official Certificate of Participation
  • have accounting software that will be active for 30 days from date of installation
  • Videos of the daily courses will be available on our portal for access by participants

Course Schedules:

  • Team One: 6th to 10th, April, 2020 (Registration Closed)
  • Team Two: 13th to 17th April, 2020 (Registration Open)
  • Team Three: 27th April to 1st May, 2020 (Registration Open)
  • Team Four: 4th May to 8th May, 2020 (Registration Open)

Time:

  • 9am and ends 12pm daily

Course Fees:

N70,000 (Seventy Thousand Naira) per participant

Other requirements:

  • All participants can access the training via their computers, laptops, tablets or mobile phones
  • Desktop or laptop will be required for installation of the accounting software to be used during the course period
